Mike Cronin joined the ABC 5 team in August of
2011 as the Helena Bureau Reporter. Originally from Salem, New Hampshire, Mike is a diehard Boston sports fan who has been spoiled by all the championships won by Boston teams over the past decade. Living away from home is nothing new to him as he used to live in Geneva, Switzerland; San Jose, California; and spent a college semester abroad in the Gold Coast, Australia.

Mike graduated with a BA in Communication from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. He is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and the Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society. While at Bryant, he anchored and produced the school’s news program - “Bryant News Broadcast” and was a co-host of a sports radio program.

While Mike has a love for sports, he developed a passion for reporting news and politics through his two internships at WFXT Fox 25 in Boston, Massachusetts and WPRI Eyewitness News in Providence, Rhode Island.

When he’s not working, miserably failing at cooking, or rooting on Boston’s teams, Mike loves to take in his surroundings. Being an avid skier and outdoorsman, Mike is eager to explore the Montanan slopes and outdoors. He’s also still trying to figure out if he’s a Bobcats or Grizzlies fan, so any expert opinion is greatly appreciated.
