Event Description

As part of its fundraising efforts the MSU Great Falls Literary Guild plans a Super Garage Sale here in Great Falls the 7th and 8th of June. Guild members ask the community that, if they have any “gently used” items that they are considering getting rid of, to let the Guild carry them away. Donations are tax deductible, and help support the printing of the annual literary journal MO: Writings from the River.
The highly acclaimed annual journal features the writing of some of the finest writers in Montana and the Rocky Mountain West, as well as the work of award-winners from all over the world. Funds for printing come solely from sales, fundraising activities and private donations.
Asked about private donations, Literary Guild faculty advisor Frederick Bridger said, “Some of the major journals throughout the country have established partnerships in their communities with organizations and private individuals who support the arts and who help them grow with nice monetary contributions. We’d welcome that sort of partnership with patrons of the arts here in Montana.”
Additional MSU GF Literary Guild fundraising plans include the popular annual Christmastime silent auction, a high-dollar/high-value prize, limited ticket sale raffle and, next year, a micro-brew tasting.
For more information or to arrange pickup of goods for the silent auction, please contact Mark Mathison, 899-0918, or Dr. Frederick Bridger, 771-4374 or 868-8550.
