Dr. Richard Buker came to Chester, Montana in July 1954. He committed his entire career to the community, and heathcare would not be what it is in Chester today without Dr. Buker.

For 9 1/2 years he served as the only practicing physician. He made house calls, saw patients, and was on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He retired from active practice in 2002, however he still works as county medical officer, writes a weekly article for the local newspaper, and volunteers wherever needed.
