By KFBB News Team

Three people were injured Wednesday morning in a crash on the north side of Great Falls.

The accident happened at the intersection of 8th Avenue North and 15th Street about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say 23-year-old Wesley James Capps was driving northbound on 15th Street, when he failed to stop at a red light, and slammed into a minivan that was driving west on 8th Avenue North.

The male driver of the minivan was ejected, while a female passenger remained inside the minivan. The driver of that van was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The female passenger was treated for injuries, which were not life threatening.

Capps also received injuries, which were not life threatening. He's been arrested on charges of felony and misdemeanor negligent vehicular assault, reckless driving, and failing to stop for a red light.

Investigators at the scene say alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
