10% More Businesses Pass Compliance Checks

Great Falls Police just completed the latest alcohol compliance check in the city and 89% of businesses tested passed.

That's a 10% increase from the last check in October. The way it works is someone underage is sent in to buy alcohol. The business fails if they do not check ID or if they check ID, but sell to the person anyway. Those that fail are cited for serving someone underage.
That Bar Bartender, Adrian Richey, explains, “our company policy is if someone looks under thirty, we card them”. When a girl came in last night that appeared under thirty, he carded her and she was not of age, so he turned her down.

That Bar is one of 41 businesses that passed. Bartenders here are proud to have succeeded, but say it’s not really a sense of accomplishment. It’s just part of their everyday routine to not serve anyone underage. They take that responsibility very seriously.
