Windy weather caused a slew of problems throughout the area today, including three tractor trailers that were blown off the road near Stamford.

Fueled by the wind, a huge fire burned off Interstate 15, south of the Vaughn exit.

The sheriff's office says there are no structures threatened in the immediate area. It is believed that a downed power line was the cause of the fire. The fire was visible from the freeway and many motorists slowed to see the flames.

On the roads, it was a white-knuckle drive. Just a few miles south of the blaze on the interstate, the wind gusts knocked a trailer off the road and onto its side. A wrecker was called to help get the trailer back onto the road.In Great Falls power outages caused traffic lights to go dark.

Firefighters also battled a brush fire just north of Great Falls off Vinyard Road. When the Vinyard fire was contained, firefighters were quickly directed to elsewhere. Due to the numerous wind-related incidents, county resources were spread thin.
