It may be snowing outside, but love is in the air. If you haven't gotten anything for your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day, we have a simple, last minute gift guide to warm your special someone's heart. When you’re running short on time- stick to the basics. Even if you're drawing a blank on Valentine's Day gifts, you probably can't go wrong if you start with some flowers.

"This year there has been a strong appeal for just the traditional red rose” according to Doug Forbes of Kranz Flowers and Gifts. Americans will buy 190 million flowers for the holiday, over half men in the US plan on buying a bouquet according to the National Retail Federation.

It is the single busiest day of the year for Kranz Flowers and Gifts in Great Falls because according to Doug Forbes, many men tend to wait until the last minute.

Another suggestion for last minute guys is jewelry. Fox Fine Jewelers downtown have a range of yogo sapphires mined here in Montana. Everything from a $600 pendant to $25,000 necklace.

Owner Terry Fox told us jewelry is all about emotion and they see a number of engagements on this day. Once you've got your flowers and jewels in hand, but sure to pick up a card.

"It’s a nice way to say I love you” said Faye Woxen of Leslie’s Hallmark. Other Valentine’s Day favorites you might consider include candy and teddy bears. From diamonds to 99 cents cards, the best gifts are those that let that your sweetheart know you care.
