The downtown Albertsons store in Great Falls has announced its plans to close its doors in less than a month.
The store, located on First Avenue North in Great Falls is the only grocery store located in downtown. When this store closes on April 17th many people will be greatly affected.
Folks were in front of the downtown Albertsons store with a petition March 18th. They will be there for the next few days because they want people to sign it to try and convince Albertsons to stay open. Officials from Albertsons say,
"While the decision to sell a store is always difficult-given the impact on associates and customers-it is guided by what is best for the company's ongoing success and future growth."
