Hi-Line Sletten Cancer Center Near Completion

By KFBB News Team

The final coats of paint are being applied to the new Hi-Line Sletten Cancer Center in Havre this week. Equipment will be installed next month and the state-of-the-art facility is expected to open in August. This type of treatment center is greatly needed in the community according to Sletten's Chief Operating Officer Joe LoDuca. At an interview at the Great Falls location he told us, “today cancer patients in the Hi-Line have to drive a minimum of two hours to get here...that as you can imagine is a big burden." The eleven thousand square foot center will allow Hi-Line cancer patients to stay in their own bed and with their families. This will help the recovery process as cancer patients can focus on recovery instead of travel. The center is the work of a partnership between Sletten Cancer Institute and Northern Montana Hospital.

Gas prices are personally affecting me. I may:

  • figure how to drive less
  • use the bus
  • get a more efficient vehicle
  • get a scooter or cycle
  • cut out something so I can afford gas
