New City Manager Takes Office

By Kim Passoth

He was selected for the spot back in January, but today was the first day in office for the new Great Falls City Manager. "I'm very excited to be here” he said “...it's going to be a crazy couple months getting acclimated. I hope everyone's patient with that process." The 38-year-old, father of four has been in Great Falls for only five days. He is looking for a new house at which time he will move his family from Franklin, New Hampshire where he also served as city manager. But Doyon is no stranger with the west. He holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of Idaho. His family is also from the Flathead Valley. He says his role here is to carryout the policy that the city commission enacts. He will meet with the commission tomorrow, with the city's budget on top of the agenda.

Gas prices are personally affecting me. I may:

  • figure how to drive less
  • use the bus
  • get a more efficient vehicle
  • get a scooter or cycle
  • cut out something so I can afford gas
