Several new projects at the Great Falls International Airport were the topic of Tuesday’s authority board meeting. The final contract of the Av Max expansion project was approved. The board is also looking to create special tax districts at the airport so that some of the taxes they pay can come back to them to improve infrastructure. That’s pending approval from the city commission. At the end of the meeting, it was announced that Av Max is looking to store a fleet of thirty 737's at the airport, a request that the airport is trying to accommodate according to airport director Cynthia Schultz. At the work session after today's board meeting, the possibility of starting a frequent parking program at the airport was the topic of discussion. The airport is considering issuing punch cards or possibly coupons to frequent parkers.
