Ice Breaker Race Registration Underway

By Andy Newcomer

Registration has begun for the 2008 Ice Breaker Road Race in Great Falls.

This year’s race is scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, and officials say they are expecting a big crowd again this year. Annually, the event brings around 3,000 runners to the Electric City.

Organizers say there is something for everyone.

“We have a one-mile, a three-mile, and a five-mile,” said the Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation, Patty Rearden. “The one-mile is really a family event. You see lots of people out with kids in strollers.”

Registration is available Monday through Friday from 8-5 at the Parks and Recreation Department office at 1700 River Drive.

Fees are $18 for those 11 and older, $12 for those 10 and under, and $50 for a family of four.

Gas prices are personally affecting me. I may:

  • figure how to drive less
  • use the bus
  • get a more efficient vehicle
  • get a scooter or cycle
  • cut out something so I can afford gas
