Gas Prices in Great Falls Highest Ever

By KFBB News Team

As gas prices are going up around the nation, here in Great Falls they're at record highs. Yesterday was the highest recorded price ever for a gallon unleaded gas in the electric city according to AAA. Gas prices around the nation have jumped about 15 cents in the last two weeks. In a survey of more than 7,000 gas stations the average national price is $3.62. That’s up 55 cents since the beginning of the year. Of the cities surveyed the cheapest price was in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where a gallon of regular costs about $3.39. The highest average was in San Francisco at just five cent short of four dollars. Although Great Falls is still nine cents below the national average, yesterday the highest average price ever for a gallon of unleaded was recorded at $3.54. With those prices folks around town are being extra cautious. Diesel prices are also at the highest levels ever. The Great Falls record was set Friday at $4.22 cents a gallon.

GF may double parking meter fees from 25 to 50 cents an hour. What do you think?

  • They need the money & I can afford it.
  • Another reason for me not to shop downtown.
  • A smaller increase will keep me shopping downtown.
  • Toss the meters, parking should be free.
