Top Cancer Researchers Speak at McLaughlin Research Institute

By KFBB News Team

Some of the world's greatest scientific minds gathered today (6/26) at the McLaughlin Research Institute in Great Falls. Top cancer researchers, Neal Copeland and Nancy Jenkins were on hand to speak at a Biomedical Sciences Workshop, along with several other researchers. The workshop went over the latest research on neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's and ADD. Organizers say the event is a good way to spread the word about the McLaughlin Institute to people outside of Montana. Irv Weissman, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee says "We want to show people who are great scientists outside, that this is a place they want to think about coming to themselves or send their very best trainees who are ready to become a principal scientist at the beginning level." The Institute uses mice to study the cause of diseases and develop better cures.
