State Democrats Excited About Their Chances in November

By KFBB News Team

After a strong turnout at the polls in the primary earlier this month, state Democratic officials say they are excited about their party's chances in November. State Chairman Dennis McDonald says a record number of more than 181,000 people cast a Democratic ballot during the primary.

"This last primary saw historic numbers of Montanans voting a Democratic ticket and we're excited about that," said McDonald. "We see new people - young people - single mothers, and some ranchers who live great distances away from poling places participate."

The party will finalize their platform on July 25th at the state convention in Miles City. McDonald says he believes Presidential nominee Barack Obama will make an appearance at the event.

GF may double parking meter fees from 25 to 50 cents an hour. What do you think?

  • They need the money & I can afford it.
  • Another reason for me not to shop downtown.
  • A smaller increase will keep me shopping downtown.
  • Toss the meters, parking should be free.
