A Malmstrom airman is set to run from Great Falls to Billings to raise money for the Red Cross.

Airman First Class Mitchell Fields will start his 225-mile run on Sunday (7/6) morning. The 22-year-old EMT says he hopes to become a professional runner someday and has been planning to run for a charity for many years.

Fields hopes to raise at least $1,000 for the Red Cross and says he picked the charity because they've helped his family several times.

Fields says he hopes to make the journey in five or six days and that he's been preparing by running a 22-mile loop around Great Falls.

"My sister and brother-in-law were in floods that happened in South Dakota and my mom and dad had landslides in Wisconsin. At every single event the Red Cross has been there to help," said Fields. "This is my way to give back and help the Red Cross out for helping my family."
