Man Accused of Embezzling From East/West Shrine Game Charity Fund

One Great Falls man is accused of embezzling money raised for charity in the East/ West Shrine High School Football game. In the last 62 years, the event has raised more than a million dollars for the Shrines Hospital in Spokane. But 78-year-old Jerrold Evans is accused of taking $55,000 from the charities account. The missing money was discovered in a June audit. Court documents say he admitted to the charges claiming he did it to feed a drinking and gambling addiction. His initial court appearance is set for tomorrow.

I certainly hope the judge throws the book at this guy. The Shrine Hospital in Spokane really helped my daughter, and I never saw a bill. I am forever beholden to the good people at the Shrine hospital. How many kids like mine won't have that chance now because of this criminal!

Instead of trying to candy coat it.... Why can't he just be called a thief? If he had a candy addiction would it be ok to steal it from a child?

OMG... are you kidding me? Why is it eveytime someone gets caught it's because of gaming or drinking? Why can't our public today step up and be accountable for their own Dumb **s things they do? This money is supposed to be for the children right? So what message are we sending out to them ? Oh sorry... I had to play a game and have a beer at your expence.. Hope he said thanks kids....
