A local bed and breakfast that was closed down for the past year, is reopening this month under new ownership. A family from Conrad decided to reopen the Collins Mansion on Second Ave. NW after it went up for sale a few months ago. The restored victorian mansion was built back in 1891 and features six guest rooms, with private baths. It is also listed on the national registry of historic homes. Owner, Andrea Gouchenour says "You know a lot of hotels when you go, you go to a box with a view of a parking lot. And so when you come to the Collin's Mansion, this is a house that was built in 1891, so it has so much history, the architecture is just beautiful, the rooms have been decorated so that each one is unique and beautiful." The bed and breakfast also hosts weddings and receptions. The owners will be holding an open house tour on September 19, 20 and 21. On Friday it will take place from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
