3 Mont. Face Charges in Killing, Selling of Eagle

By KFBB News Team

Three Montana men each face up to a year in prison on charges that two of them captured and killed an injured golden eagle then sold it to the third man for $100.
An affidavit filed by federal prosecutors says 58-year-old
Curtis Foster and 57-year-old Glenn Reum, both of Pablo, picked up
the injured eagle from along a highway near Lincoln. They kept it
in a motel bathtub for a week before Reum killed it with a hammer.
Federal prosecutors allege Foster sold the dead bird to
64-year-old Doug Standing Rock, who lives on the Rocky Boy's Indian
Reservation and wanted it for ceremonial purposes.
The three men are released on special conditions following a
Monday arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Strong in
Great Falls.
