GF Refinery Won't Expand Capacity Right Now

By KFBB News Team

Canadian owners of the Montana Refining Company in Great Falls say they won't be expanding its oil processing capacity.

In January, Calgary-based Connacher Oil & Gas announced it was considering a plan to almost quadruple the refinery's capacity. It now processes 95-hundred barrels a day and the expansion would've taken it to 35-thousand barrels per day.

It's another case of the economy and a company vice president says scarce financing and a decreased demand for gasoline puts the expansion on hold. He added, conditions needed to put the plans back on track were not likely to happen anytime soon.
