We asked the executive how she thinks the economy got to the state it's in now.... and whether blame should be placed on large lending companies. Mcculloch says she thinks the problem wasn't greed, but, actually optimism. Both on the part of lenders and buyers who saw home prices sky- rocketing and bought what they couldn't really afford. Mcculloch says while the storm clouds may be looming on the country's economic front, she thinks montana is in a good position because of both job opportunities and economic growth.

I agree with Linda. Montana lenders have always been responsible. We are fortunate to not be in the same situation - Montana's need to stay positive and encourage others to keep moving forward and have a positive outlook for the future. We should not be pulled into this pychological "economic depression".
