It’s been one year since the Prospector Casino burned to the ground, but on Monday the doors will once again reopen to the public at 7am. After last years' devastating fire many thought this day would never come. "The time when it burned down we weren't even sure if we were going to reopen” said Stephanie Crawford who parents own the restaurant, bar and casino. The Prospector was built back in the 50s and had been a landmark in the community for decades. Seventy-one-year old Murlyn Burkstrand remembers spending his 21st birthday at the bar and today (9/10) was one of the first through the doors. "It’s bigger and more beautiful but it's the same old homey place that the customers know from before” said Crawford. "It's been hard a lot of tear and smiles…we’re excited about opening” she added.
