Airmen at Malmstrom Air Force Base should find staying in shape during cold Montana winters easier thanks to a new fitness facility under construction.

Work continued Wednesday (11/19) on the nearly 80,000 square foot facility, which is expected to be completed in February. The new fitness center will cost about $12 million and will replace the current fitness building, which is more than fifty-years old.

Officials say the new facility should improve the quality of life on base and help airmen meet their annual fitness requirements. They hope to open the facility within a month after construction is completed, and have set a goal for March.
