County Focused on Health Risks

By KFBB News Team

The environment became the focus of today's (1/13) Cascade County commission meeting.

Primarily, that concern lies over the expanded cost of the Neihart clean up.

The Environment Protection Agency's human health risk assessment showed that lead and arsenic are the mining-related contaminants of concern.

The primary concern driving the cleanup is children's exposure to elevated concentrations of lead.
