Residents of Butte React to Plane Crash, Investigation Begins

By KFBB News Team

Local residents of Butte are still dealing with the shock caused by the crash of a Pilatus PC-12 plane that took the lives of 14 people- 7 of them, children.

Investigators have been on the scene since early Monday morning, and admit that their investigation will be difficult due to the absence of a flight data recorder, and the fact that there were no survivors on board. There has been speculation that the crash could have been caused by an overcrowded plane. There were 14 people on board a plane that was designed to fit 10. Still, the NTSB explains that it is much too early to know for sure.

Governor Schweitzer added that this tragedy should not deter anyone from traveling to the state because of fear.
