Montana's Plane Crash History

By KFBB News Team

There have been 21 airplane crashes in Montana since March of last year.

Four of those crashes were fatal, totaling 17 victims.

With Sunday's crash in Butte killing 14, and the fatal crash of veteran pilot Sparky Imeson last Tuesday near Helena, this month is shaping up to be one of the deadliest on record for the state.

The National Transportation Safety Board shows that in the past ten years, 76 people have died in airplane crashes in Montana...with the highest incidence of those occurring in the Belgrade area.
