Ash Grove Investigates Asbestos, Quits Paying Employees

By KFBB News Team

As the asbestos investigation continues, the Ash Grove Cement Company has quit paying hourly employees.

The company announced it will quit paying hourly employees who are out of work while the company attempts to look into the possibility of asbestos exposure. Company officials explain they are working on lining up unemployment benefits for the fifty-seven workers who were sent home March 16th after suspected asbestos was discovered.

Ash Grove will pay the employees through Friday, March 27th, and pay their health insurance premiums through April. Results from the quarry are expected early next month.
