$77 Million in Stimulus Money to Upgrade Montana's Ports

By KFBB News Team

Senators Jon Tester (D-MT) and Max Baucus (D-MT) say five ports of entry along Montana's northern border with Canada will receive an estimated $77 million in funding thanks to the recently passed stimulus bill.

The Senators say the money will be spent on refurbishing, remodeling, and in some cases, rebuilding the port. The money is expected to be split almost evenly between the Scobey, Wild Horse, Del Bonita, Morgan, and Whitetail ports. The Senators say the money will boost the state's economy by creating jobs and investing in ports of entry that keep America safe and facilitate cross-border commerce.
