Marysville Montana may look insignificant on a map, but
the town's history makes it a great summer destination.
Marysville was founded in 1876 around the Drum Lummon gold
and silver mine.
Now, remnants of the mining era are sprinkled throughout
the ghost town.
By the 1890's the population of Marysville reached around
five-thousand people. Today, just under one hundred residents call the
mining town home.


Marysville Resident, Ryan Abelin, took a day off to go exploring with kids. He says the rich history of
Marysville brings tourists to town.

Abelin also says, "people like to come up and see the ghost town and a lot of
the old equipment and the old broke down mines from the
past."

Ryan's daughter, Lindsay Abelin, says she likes running around town and seeing the old buildings. She says, "they're so funny when they're broke down."

One of the best ways to see the sites in Marysville is
walking from place to place.
You can walk from the Lush Confectionery Store to the
historic Methodist Episcopal Church.
Abelin says out of all the places in town he enjoys the
Marysville House the most. He says, "you can get steak and seafood and inexpensive drinks that
pack a punch. There's a horseshoe pit and a fireplace and its got a rustic ambiance."


Travelers can enjoy the dilapidated buildings and dusty streets of Marysville for price of filling up a car.
