Preparations Underway for Fourth of July Events in Great Falls and Surrounding Communities

By KFBB News Team

Preparations are well underway for the annual Fourth of July parade set to happen in downtown Great Falls Saturday.

The parade will kick off at 11:00 a.m. at the Civic Center, heading east down 1st Avenue South, turning on 8th Street, and then west down Central Avenue ending back at the Civic Center.

This year's parade will honor the 125th birthday of Great Falls. As part of the parade, more than 6,000 American flags will be given up, and there will be flyovers by MANG's F-15 jets and the Border Patrol's Blackhawk helicopters.

Parade organizers do want to get the word out that there's a city ordinance against throwing candy and that law will be enforced this year. Those in the parade can still hand out candy, as long as it's not thrown.

In Choteau, the Chamber of Commerce parade will begin after a MANG F-15 flyover at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. At 2:00 p.m., the 64th annual American Legion rodeo kicks off in Choteau.
