4th of July on Helena Streets

British researchers have just found an authentic copy of the Declaration of Independence. Historians believe that this copy is one of the 200 copies of the original document. Of the original copies, historians have now only found 26.

In light of the discovery and, of course, the holiday, local Helena Residents reflect on their rights as Americans. Local Resident, Valerie Hellerman, says, “The Declaration of Independence, you know, holds all our key rights as individuals.”

Helena Outfitter, Mike Geary, says, “The 4th of July for me means it’s an opportunity for us to put aside our differences and come together as a country.”

Government Teacher, Shaun Deola, says, “Freedoms are very important cause they mean I can basically do what I want as long as I don’t trample on the rights of others.”

Helena Resident, Lynden Pino, says, “Our people fought for this day so just think about it for a little bit and have some pride.”
