Body Found Near Rainbow Dam Identified As Missing Great Falls Man

By KFBB News Team

The Cascade County Coroner's Office has confirmed that a body recovered Friday (7/3) near the Rainbow Dam on the Missouri River is indeed that of John Ritland of Great Falls who had been missing for about a week.

Deputy Coroner Eric Bailey says foul play is not suspected in the death of the 36-year-old. Great Falls Police believe he may have walked to the river that day from his home at 344 Carol Drive. Ritland suffered from Huntington's disease, a brain disorder that can cause involuntary movements and behavioral problems.
