New Wing Commander at Montana Air National Guard

There’s a new man in charge at the Montana Air National Guard. Colonel Pete Hronek of Great Falls has been selected as the new Wing Commander of MANG. Currently he’s the Operations Group Commander for the Wing but he’s held all sorts of jobs during his 25 years with the Guard. He’s a command pilot and has logged more than 35 hundred hours in the sky. Some of that time was spent during two missions in Iraq. He’s received the Bronze Star for his service. Col. Hronek will be replacing current wing commander Col. Mike McDonald who has been selected for the commander of Air National Guard Readiness at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Wing spokesman Rick Anderson said, “It’s a bittersweet time right now for the MANG. We’re having to say goodbye to Col. McDonald…but at the same time we’re saying hello to a Colonel that has a wealth of experience…and were equally excited to bring him on board as our new wing commander.” An official change of command ceremony will take place this Sunday and News Channel 5 will of course be there.
