Report Released on Fired VA Doctor

By KFBB News Team

A physician at the VA Medical Center at Fort Harrison was recently fired for delivering substandard care and falsifying medical records.

The VA's Office of Inspector General's report, released on Wednesday, did not name the doctor, who was fired on March 13th. The report claims that a VA investigative team had "numerous additional concerns regarding the provision of care to veterans" in the medical specialty practiced by the fired doctor.

The report recommends the VA send a team of specialists to the facility, located west of Helena, to review patient care in that doctor's medical specialty.

A spokeswoman at the Fort Harrison VA Center said an "action plan" was developed to protect patients, but declined to provide any specifics on the plan.
