This Sunday (8/6) athletes from around the country will descend on the Electric City to take part in the third annual Harvest Thunder Triathlon. The race consists of a 500-meter swim, 12-mile bike ride and three mile run. Though the race may sound daunting it isn't just for world-class athletes, it's for everyone. About 150 people from age six to 66 will take in this psychical challenge. Race Director Greg Hall said, "The race is open to anybody. The only thing that limits you is personal limitations and most of that's psychological because we all have the psychical abilities to get to the level to do this sprint." Steven L'Heureax is proof of that. He watched on as his son took second in the race last year. He said, "My son is a world class tri-athlete out of Missoula and will be doing the Iron Man in Hawaii this fall." Now the 54-year old will give it a go inspired by his son and his health. "Men in my family die in their 50s, I thought now would be a good time to get in shape. I need an excuse to do it,” he added. After several months of training, he's in excellent shape. He's come a long way to transform from spectator to competitor. He told us, "Well first I had to learn how to swim…a length of the pool was a tough chore for me." It will take him about an hour to complete the course. If you'd like to compete alongside him the race starts at 7AM and the Electric City Water Park. If you think you're not quite ready yet, spectators are welcome and as L'Heureax can tell you, there's always next year. If you'd like to swim, bike and run alongside L'Heureax, you can sign up at Gold's Gym or at
