A 95-year-old Montanan receives the nation's highest civilian honor.
Joseph Medicine Crow is the last living Plains Indian War Chief, and one of 16 people to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Medicine Crow is an author and historian from Lodge Grass, and fought in World War II wearing war paint beneath his uniform.

Medicine Crow and 15 others, including Stephen Hawking, Sandra Day O'Connor, and Billie Jean King gathered for the ceremony in the East Room of the White House, where President Obama personally placed the medal around each recipients neck.
