Moose Creek Campground Closes

By KFBB News Team

The Moose Creek Campground, which is North of White Sulphur Springs, will close for the season because of incredible pine beetle damage.
The Lewis and Clark National Forest campground closes tomorrow (9/2), to prevent human injury from falling trees.
Approximately 60-percent of the lodge pole pine trees in the campground are dead or dying...that means at least 150 trees pose a potential hazard, and need to be removed before the campground can be reopened.
The site will be inspected for hazards in the spring.
Forest staff hopes to preserve healthy trees from beetle infestation in time for the campground to reopen on schedule.
