Search and Rescue Underway for Assumed Drowning Near Rocky Boy

Members of the Chouteau County Search and Rescue are scouring the Bonneau Reservoir on the Rocky Boy's Reservation, where a person was last seen Saturday afternoon.

Out of respect for the family, most details of the drowning are being withheld by search and rescue until a body is found.

What we do know, after speaking with family and area residents, is that the victim is an 18-year-old male and a senior in highschool.

An aunt and nephew confirmed that the victim had been swimming in the reservoir on Saturday afternoon when he disappeared.

Family members also told NewsChannel 5 that search and rescue was now using divers to comb the reservoir floor.

Search and rescue crews have been delayed, because of rainy and cold weather that moved into the area yesterday afternoon and murky water that makes searching difficult.
