Helena Area Women's Expo

By KFBB News Team

On Friday in Helena it was all about the women, as the city’s first ever Women’s Expo got underway at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds.

Whether you’re there to shop, eat, or just plain relax, the Helena Area Women’s Expo is sure to satisfy. The event includes over 70 vendors covering a wide variety of interests.

Aimee Muffick of Helena says, “I’ve been looking at some of the skincare stuff, the hair salons, some of the nutrition programs. I just had a baby so it’s getting me out of the house, and I’m going to come look at some blinds and see what home décor stuff is available.”

Leah Linken Bach of Helena explains, "We’re just looking at everything. There’s lots of little free gifts and a good variety of stuff going on here, lots of information.”

Chantelle McDuffie of Helena says, “We came down here today to experience everything that’s offered here and we have come across some pretty fantastic booths and people."

The expo features a number of demonstrations ranging from tango dancing to tire changing. Most agree the many opportunities available are well worth the $5 admission fee at the door.

Aimee Muffick explains, “I think the value is very good. I didn’t expect there to be so many vendors when I came. I thought it’d be a quick in-and-out, but apparently I’m going to spend a lot more time here.”

The expo also acts as a way to promote local businesses and give the area economy a boost.

Danyeil Leann Wagner, store manager for Wheat Montana in Helena, explains, “It gives me a chance to get out in the community more rather than just staying at the store, and it helps our business because I get to let everybody know what’s going on in our store, great sales that we’re having, and how we can benefit them.”

Although the expo is designed for women, men are encouraged to attend for many reasons.

Shawna Fwanz, advertiser, says, “Men are welcome to come to the women’s expo. It’s a great opportunity for them to check out Christmas gifts Maybe it’s time to get ideas for gifts.”

The women’s expo takes place in the Exhibit Hall at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds in Helena. It will also run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, October 24th.
