Home Sales in Western States on the Rise

Two new reports show that home sales in western states are starting to rise.

The National Association of Realtors announced on Friday that sales rose 5% from September of last year.

First-time home buyers looking to cash in on the $8000 dollar tax credit before the deadline are believed to be behind the surge.

But even though home sales are good in most of the western United States, foreclosures are still hurting parts of California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Nationwide, homes sales saw an 8% annual increase in September.
