Hi-Line Communties Receive More Than $2,000,000 in Grants

The Montana Department of Commerce Director Anthony Preite will be traveling today and tomorrow through Fort Benton, Box Elder, Havre, Harlem, and Malta to deliver $2.6 million dollars worth of grants, awarded through the Montana Reinvestment Act.

Preite kicked off his tour this morning in Fort Benton, where he presented the Fort Benton school district with almost $60,000 dollars, which will go to building maintenance and other projects.

The River and Plains Society also received a $60,000 grant for reconstruction at Old Fort Benton.

Grant money will also be going to the Havre, Box Elder, and Harlem public schools.

Other grant projects include an upgrade to the Rudyard sewer and water system, exhibit construction at the Havre Buffalo Jump Site, and the renovation of a retirement center in Malta.
