Giant Man-Eating Spiders Infest Area Gym

During this Halloween season, you may have noticed some spooky creatures lurking around town. One area business is simply crawling with unsavory insects.

A gym is supposed to be a positive place where people go to improve their health, not fear for their lives. Friday, News Channel 5 visited one Great Falls fitness center that is infested with arachnids, and nobody seems to be doing anything about it.

At Peak Health and Wellness Center, members come to lift weights, do cardio, and shoot hoops. But what most don't seem to realize is that they are working-out in the den of giant man-eating spiders. News channel 5 demanded an explanation from the staff.

“We’ve had a couple of children disappear,” said Jean Vaskey of Peak Health and Wellness. “I don’t think they are poisonous, they are just hungry.”

Meanwhile, one Police Officer had this to say about the problem: “The spiders have not broken any laws. So, we can’t do anything about it.”

Vaskey offers this advice to members:

“If you smack one, or swat one, we will put it in a smoothie for you. They are high in protein.

The Peak staff assures the public that the spiders are not here to stay.

“Usually when the Christmas elves come, they eat the spiders. The elves come, the spiders go away.”
