Sheriff: No More Response to Minor Animal Control Complaints in Cascade County

By KFBB News Team

You may recall just about a week ago, Cascade County Sheriff David Castle announced he was going to cut several positions and leave others unfilled due to budget concerns. As part of that, the animal control officer position was cut.

On Friday, the sheriff announced that deputies would only be responding to bite complaints and those animal calls that are evaluated by the shift supervisors as needing a response due to public safety reasons.

Cascade County Commissioners are disputing these cuts.

The sheriff will hold a public meeting to discuss the cuts, coming up on November 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cascade County Sheriff's Office.
