Tonight (11/3), Great Falls will have a new mayor. Earlier today, we spoke with both candidates one last time before the final votes are tallied.

It may be Election Day, but for Great Falls mayoral candidates Bill Bronson and Michael Winters, it's just a normal Tuesday.

"I still have my regular work to do,” said City Commissioner and mayoral candidate Bill Bronson. “Still waiting to see how the World Series comes out. The only thing different about tomorrow is I know I have a lot of signs to take down; you know, win or lose.”

"If I'm victorious,” said mayoral candidate Michael Winters, “I'll go to bed with a smile. If I'm not, I'm going to go to bed anyway. That's just how life is. There are no guarantees."

This laid-back approach has carried throughout the race for mayor. Both candidates express respect for one another, but both believe they'll take Great Falls in the right direction.

"If I win, I'm going to be delighted,” Winters added. “If I don't get enough votes to be mayor, I'll be disappointed and disappointed for the people who voted for me, but it's not going to change me. I'm going to be the same tomorrow as I am today- that's just me. That's my personality and that's how it is."

"I'm used to competition,” Bronson said. “You know, the odds are you're going to win some, you're going to lose some... My philosophy is in 5 to 10 years this may be a minor blip on the radar screen of life. So, I don't get too overly concerned about it."

According to the city charter, if Bronson is elected mayor, his replacement on the City Commission will be appointed by the commissioners, and that person will serve the remainder of his term.
