Fire Damages Helena Home

By KFBB News Team

A Helena family’s home has been severely damaged after an early morning fire.

The blaze began at 9:30 Thursday morning in the home located on Green Meadow Drive. One woman was home sleeping at the time, and she was able to escape unharmed after her dog alerted her to the fire.

It took approximately fifteen local firefighters 5-8 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the interior of the home.

The Red Cross has already stepped in to help the family, who will be staying for free at the Wingate Hotel in Helena. It is believed the blaze originated on the main floor, but the exact cause is still unknown and an investigation is underway.

If you’d like to make a donation to the family, contact the Helena Red Cross at 495-1293.
