Black Eagle Community Center Gets New Patio Thanks to Volunteers

The Black Eagle Community Center now has a new patio thanks to volunteers with a local veterans group.

Members of VFW Post 4669 took advantage of Thursday's beautiful weather to lay concrete for the patio at the community center.

It's all part of a service project the post took on to replace and upgrade the center's existing patio, which had fallen into disrepair.

Post Commander Frank Tuss says, "It was a hazard so...we took on this project a year ago to remove the old patio here because of the old broken concrete and the broken asphalt. The way we're going, we'll probably be done laying the concrete by one thirty, but finish everything we'll probably be here 'til dark."

Tuss says the community center should be able to use the patio on Saturday. And the veterans group also plans to add a roof sometime in the future, as part of the three year project.
