Fort Harrison Reacts to Fort Hood Shooting

By KFBB News Team

In light of the tragedy at Fort Hood, those at Fort Harrison are expected to review their own policies.

No Montana troops were at Fort Hood where the shootings occurred, but the incident brings added awareness to the command over at Fort Harrison. Soldiers at the base are being told to stay vigilant and keep an eye out for any unusual or suspicious activity.

Although the Fort Hood shooting is believed to be an isolated occurrence, in the wake of the event those at Fort Harrison will take a look at their own security plans and procedures.

Lt. Dan Bushnell, Public Affairs Specialist, explains, “This is an unfortunate incident that occurred, and we are going to take the steps necessary to review what happened down there, and ensure that should an incident like that occur at this post, that we have all the necessary procedures in place to deal with it very quickly to ensure minimum loss of life and property.”

Those at Fort Harrison would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the family members and friends of the Fort Hood shooting victims.
