Help Bring Holiday Cheer to Homeless Pets in Great Falls

It may only be November but with the holidays right around the corner, Petco is hoping you will help them bring some holiday cheer to homeless animals in the area.

This weekend is the kickoff of the Annual Tree of Hope fundraiser at Petco in Great Falls. The store is raising money and pet supplies for the Pet PawSee, a non-profit rescue organization.

At the registers, there are pre-made bags you can buy to donate or you can purchase your own supplies and drop them off in a donation box. Petco says the fundraiser helps promote adoption in the community and defray the medical costs for rescued animals.

Gilbert Aldrich, General Manager at petco says, "You know theres a lot of animals, you know their pet parents are going through a tough time right now with the economy so we're trying to help eliminate a lot of those animals from getting surrendered to the shelter. There's a lot of costs that are involved whenever you rescue a cat or a dog. There are vet expenses, spaying and neutering of the animals, making sure they're current on all of their shots."

Petco's goal is to raise $5,000. The fundraiser will continue through Sunday, December 6th.
