New Poll Shows Montanans Approval of President Obama Dropping

By The Associated Press

HELENA, Mont. - A new poll says Montanans give President Barack Obama poor marks on job performance, and don't approve of the federal stimulus spending.

The Montana State University poll says that 37 percent approve of Obama's job performance, while 53 percent disapprove.

The MSU-Billings telephone survey of 414, conducted from Nov. 5-8, has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

Support for the federal economic stimulus package came in at just 28 percent. A total of 61 percent opposed and 11 percent were undecided.

The survey says that most think that health care will get worse with the health care bill.

At the same time however, Montanans were about split on the more liberal notion of including the so-called public option in health care overhaul plans.
