Helena Man Pleads Guilty to Shooting Three Teenagers in Deadly Rampage

An 18-year old Helena man has pleaded guilty to shooting three other teenagers in June, killing one and causing severe injury to the others.

Sebastian Olivares Coster pleaded guilty to one count of deliberate homicide for the death of 16-year old Cory Andrewski, and two counts of attempted deliberate homicide for shooting two other teens. Before his sentencing, scheduled for February 26th, Olivares-Coster will undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs.

Leo Gallagher, Lewis and Clark County Attorney, explains, "We'll have Mr. Coster transported to the Warm Springs State Hospital. He will be in our forensic unit there, that is he's not with the patients who are being treated there. He will be evaluated in the forensic unit there, and they will do that over the course of the next two months, and they will make a decision as to, was he mentally ill at the time that he committed these offenses."

If it is determined that Olivares-Coster was not mentally ill at the time of the crime, he could face anywhere from 30 years to life in prison.
